"Walk about" Tour

Raymond Firestone Arena
The Raymond Firestone Arena is the main hub of Pegasus Farm. This building houses our indoor heated arena, program offices, a volunteer station, observation room and the Pegasus Farm gift shop. The administrative and program offices house many of the people who help 'keep Pegasus flying.'Brushing a horse The volunteer station provides all of the Farm's volunteers a check-in point where they can pick up their name tags and log their hours. The Pegasus Farm gift shop is also located in the building and offers Pegasus Farm merchandise.

The observation room allows friends and family to watch as the riders are in class. The heated indoor arena, allows Pegasus Farm to provide its therapeutic programs year round. The arena has a wooden platform and a wheelchair accessible hydraulic lift to assist with mounting.

Outdoor "Tiger" Arenaoutdoor arena
The A. M. "Tiger" Pastore Arena is located right next to the Raymond Firestone Arena. The Tiger Arena is the largest outdoor arena on the Farm and is used for many of the riding and driving lessons, weather permitting.

Dressage Arena
The Dressage Arena is located next to Tiger Arena and is utilized, generally, by the more independent riders. Riders can use the standard sized Dressage Arena to practice and learn more about the equestrian sport of dressage.

Adapted Riding Course (ARC)
Adapted riding courseThe Adapted Riding Course (ARC) was given to Pegasus Farm by the Junior League of Canton in the fall of 2006. The riding course was a gift to Pegasus from the Junior League which donated all of the funding and much of the labor for the project.

The Adapted Riding course is a professionally designed, one acre therapeutic riding and driving trail which will enable Pegasus' riders and drivers who are unable to go trail riding in the open fields and woods to experience the exhilaration of riding their horse outside. The trail features landscaping, a wooden bridge, jumps, a swinging gate and various other obstacles and activities designed to present therapeutic challenges to riders and drivers. It also features an historic farm bell that was donated by the Sweitzer family.

The Adapted Riding Course is an important addition to the therapeutic programming at Pegasus. The various features of the course provide our riders - and drivers - with visual, auditory and mental stimulation. They require riders to listen and follow instructions and to make decisions that enable them to guide their horse in just the right way so that they are able to open and close the gate or reach for mail in one of the colorful mailboxes.

Wooded Trails
Pegasus Farm has a 20 acre wooded area that is often used for trail rides. The trails are located beyond the pastures and take the riders back into the woods for a scenic change of pace and sometimes a picnic at the campsite.

Amy's Barn
Horses have stalls in three different areas the Firestone Arena building, the old bank barn and "Amy's Barn" which is named in memoriam to one of our long-time riders. The horses are brought in daily for feeding, grooming and to work with classes but they are generally turned out at night into one of our five pastures.

Pegasus gardens
